MIAS 2026: All-new EV5 is the most affordable Kia BEV in PH

It may have taken Kia Philippines quite a while, but now they have officially welcomed their latest BEV offering to the local market.

At the 2026 Manila International Auto Show, Kia finally launched the all-new EV5 as their most affordable BEV offering in the country. The brand announced two variants for the EV5, namely the GL and GLS.

Measuring 4615mm long, 1875mm wide, and 1715mm tall, the EV5 is a compact BEV that could comfortably sit five passengers. Following the “Opposites United” design language, the EV5 closely resembles the bigger EV9 SUV with its slim light signatures in its front and rear fascia, along with the upright boxy styling and aerodynamic two-tone wheel designs.

Two 12.3-inch screens combine for the EV5’s panoramic display on the dashboard, with a minimalist design that also incorporates physical switches for its automatic climate control and other interior functions. As expected, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard for both variants of the EV5, along with proprietary USB charging ports on the first and second rows of the vehicle.

The EV5’s two variants for the Philippine market come with the long-range battery and electric motor setup. An 88.1 kWh battery powers a single electric motor, sending 217 PS and 310 Nm of torque to the rear wheels. In this setup, the EV5 can reach up to 550 km of range in a single charge.

Using a DC fast charger, the EV5’s electric architecture allows recharging from 30 to 80% in about 27 minutes, and features a vehicle-to-load function to power up appliances and other electronic devices for outdoor and emergency use.

The EV5 also comes equipped with Kia’s DriveWise ADAS, adding things like Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and Automatic Emergency Braking to its list of advanced safety features.
